That’s why I decided to change HTSBT from nofollow to dofollow to give my readers a little link love.
Dofollow Blog, Dofollow Comment And It’s Effect On Blog
What is a dofollow blog and nofollow blog?
You may have heard about the term ‘dofollow’ quite often.
Many of my blog readers are beginners, so they may not be aware of dofollow term. So, Let’s see in very short.
‘Nofollow’ is a tag which tells the search engines not to crawl or follow or notice a link on particular page/post.
Dofollow is opposite of nofollow. That means all the links which have no ‘nofollow’ tag are dofollow and therefore search engines are readily notice and follow that links.
This dofollow attribute helps blogs to boost their pagerank and search engine rankings.
That is why having links from dofollow blogs are known as “link juice”.
Are Default blog comments dofollow?
No..!! By default all wordpress blogs have “rel=nofollow” tag in comment section which is not dofollow and not much beneficial to commentators.
These comments with nofollow attributes can bring traffic from that blog but do not provide any considerable value to seo.
Making a blog dofollow is a risk…
Maintaining a dofollow blog is not very easy. It has its own disadvantages with it.
#1. Number of spam comments will be increased and we must need to find and implement ways to reduce spam comments.
#2. Every approved comment means atleast one outgoing dofollow backlink. Search engines like google don’t like high number of outgoing links. Therefore, it may affect search engine rankings.
#3. Pagerank of your dofollow blog will be affected due to high number of outgoing dofollow links. Because your pagerank will get distributed to the outgoing dofollow links.
But I am not thinking and worrying about this cons of having dofollow blog to comment because I want my readers HAPPY!!!
Can having dofollow comments on my blog affect its reputation and rankings?
