How to Choose Between A PC and Mac
Being an avid blogger I tend to spend a lot of time on my computer as i’m sure most of you do. Keeping in line with my goal of sharing my blogging tips with you. Here is my take on the PC and Mac debate and which one you should pick for your online entrepreneurial journey.
When we look at the world of computers we often see the rivalry between PC’s and Mac’s. Even more so now with the emerging market of tablets and smartphone. However, one advantage that a PC and Mac have over Chromebooks is that they are more versatile and have a long history of strong performance.
So the real question for most people is how do you decide whether or not to get a PC or Mac. Well in this article of how to choose between a PC and Mac, the real question you should ask yourself is what you are going to be using your computer for. Once you answer that question you will have a better direction of what you will want.
I will also cover the pros and cons of both platforms to give you the real understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of both platforms.
Steve Jobs was not only concerned with the platform, but he also knew that people wanted the look to match the performance. All of his designs have been inspiring, stunning and creative mixed all into one.
Apple to this day keeps that very same platform keeping itself standing apart from the competition including against a PC. However, design does not just stop there. Even the icons and the way your macs programs are set up have a user friendly yet sleek design.
PC;s have over the last few years been trying to copy that, but in all honesty a copycat cannot compete with the original. It may look good, but it will always be a replica of something better.
Windows Offers Wider Variety
There is no dispute that Windows computers have a lot more developers working for them than anyone else. It is the widest used platform not only because it can work with Linux installed as on operating system, but also because of the other many benefits that it offers in its versatility.
The versatility of Windows is its biggest selling point. Typically Windows has the widest version of uses then the MAC operating system. You may not know but as an example, Windows popular Microsoft Office has more features and functionality then the version for a Mac.
This is a huge selling point for any office or business which is why they typically go with Windows in addition to the price point discount.
More Money with a Mac
Despite how loyal Mac users are, they are starting to shy away from the Macintosh platform because they are one of the most expensive machines around. Even the most expensive PC still is typically cheaper than the low end Macs and you are talking about a hard core gaming PC with all the bells and whistles that still go far below what a MacBook Pro costs.
Some people confuse the price with a Mac having more features then a PC but unfortunately reality does not show that to be true. In all actuality you are paying for the brand and the ability that the Mac platforms interlock with one another and are easier to use typically then a PC, but that same simplicity and lack of customization you have to figure out is why a PC will always have more flexibility then a Mac.
Everyone knows that if you want a hardcore computing machine customized specifically to what you do then a Mac is not the option anymore.
Windows Equals Custom
It is true that in the past of when clock speeds were at the rise for computing that a Mac was the way to go, especially when they introduced dual core processing. However, since then Intel and AMD have caught up and the days of Mac being better for graphics and visual computing is no longer true.
In fact, PC Gaming and visual are better on a PC because you can adapt and increase your RAM, multiple top of the line graphics cards as well as much data as your tower can support and even then you can still get external hard drives. Macs are not that flexible and to buy it with added features you have to pay them to install it for you if that option is even available at all.
Mac Means You Are Not Alone
Undoubtedly the strength of Apple is their support. Many people who are not technically inclined want to be told what to do. For some reason hackers do not target Macs as much until recently, but even then there are far fewer attacks on the Mac operating system versus Windows by far. Their support is the best in the industry hands down. If you need to remove malware from your PC or Mac have a look here
If you want the benefits of a Mac and PC for everyday use and light gaming as well as well-rounded features then you will want a Mac with Windows. This will give you all of the benefits of a Mac and PC combined and life is pretty good. We did that option and are very happy with the results.
However, if you are a hard core gamer or you want a custom computer to handle very specific functions then you will want a PC. We also have one of these machines for our company as well.
Windows is far more customizable at a far better price. If you buy your own parts and install it yourself you can save at least fifty percent if not in the upwards of seventy five percent versus a Mac. If you want to have a professional do the installations for you, your savings will still go from twenty-five to thirty-five percent.
If you still do not know which way to go then you can do what we did and buy both.
