How to improve your blog
Blogging Masterclass # 4
The holiday season is well and truly over. And may people spend more time indoors working on their blogs. Lat time we talked about how to become a successful blogger. today we are going to go through some simple but extremely useful tip that will show you how to improve your blog.
Knowing how to improve your blog will set you apart from the competition. Lot’s of bloggers just wait for success, by reading this I know you are different. As with anything in the world of blogging, it’s important to share your passion with others. If you are travelling and want to stay in touch with those you left at home or you want to share some tips & tricks with others, having your own blog is a great way to do this.
Get those headlines on point
Think headlines, this is how to improve your blog dramatically and really all it take is more thought and no more time. This is what your readers will read first so make sure it has the power to draw potential readers in. It like a red rag to a bull, your readers are going to come charging. Drop the dull thoughtless headlines, no one wants to see repetitive, commonplace, predictable headlines. If you don’t have an intriguing opener your readers may decide to skip your whole blog.
I’m not saying my headlines are perfect. You have some much as a blogger to think about but hang your useful content on an engaging headline. For example:
“How to improve your blog”
“How to improve your blog and explode reader engagement”
Which one do you think is going to get your interest?
I’ve touched on it before but make sure you voice your own opinion, your readers need to know who you are and what you stand for. Ask yourself what are you passionate about, what are you knowledgeable about? Once you answer that question get out there and start creating those blog posts. Think about a strong opinion it always drives the debate. We all love to consume other people opinions. You can be sure that you will get reactions and comments will follow.
Don’t be a part timer
Do you want to see your visitor returning regularly?Don’t be a part timer! You need to be updating regularly if you want readers to come back and consume more of your material. If you can post daily you will be on to a winner.
I would suggest pre-writing as much content as you can this way when you have other engagements you still have content. Why not find a good ghostwriter or store up guest posts
If you are interested in what you’re are doing then others will be as well. If you grow bored with what you’re writing about its likely others will do too. If you can covey a sense of passion in all that you write readers will want more.
Build a friendly community feeling
Having a friendly blog is important. When readers come to visit you want them to not only absorb your content you want them to comment.
- Always reply to people’s comments
- Be constructive and helpful
- Try and engage in conversation
- Thank people for their participation
Make sure you Regularly carry out blog maintenance
Carry out regular updates to make sure everything is running smoothly and nothing is broken or not fit for purpose.
I’m not saying you have to have a custom theme but having a good theme which out can make unique with header changes will keep you unique.
Knowing how to improve your blog is about all of the things I have mentioned above. There is no substitute for passion and enthusiasms for what you are doing.
