Matt Cutts, head of Google’s web spam team, tweeted yesterday (sixth October,2013) that there will not be any pagerank update (pr update) carried out by Google this year.
Since last eight months, Goggle has not updated PR. Last pagerank update was done on February 2013. So next pr update is the most awaited update. But I think now we should have to wait more or there will be no more updates…
Niels Bosch, founder of AmongTech, asked to Matt Cutts on twitter about PR update before 2014. He asked “Will there be a Pagerank update before 2014?”
In reply, Matt Cutts tweeted that,”I would be surprised if that happened”

So what we should conclude from this conversation?
Will there be no any pagerank update ever? Is pagerank dead forever?
Or it’s just made private to stop link spamming or negative seo?
Because when it will be asked on Google Webmaster Help by Daniel Weadley that “Why don’t you switch off the PageRank Toolbar feature? It is widely used by link sellers as a link grading system. Why do you continue to display PageRank publicly? It appears to have little relevance, except to spammers.”
